"When you realize you want to spend
the rest of your life with somebody,
you want the rest of your life
to start as soon as possible."
~When Harry Met Sally
This past Saturday, October 11, 2008, Ryan and I had the pleasure of photographing a very old friend of mine, Teri and her boyfriend Herb. They were talking about getting engaged, and figured they'd have pictures done of them together, so that when they got engaged, they would be able to use these pictures. Teri and I got together a couple weeks prior, and she wasn't expecting the engagement to be until at least sometime in November, so I of course contacted Herb to see what his plans were! And boy oh boy, do great minds think a like!
We met up at the gazebo overlooking the Schuylkill River behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art to stat our session. We took at least two dozen really great shots, and I had them go sit on a small flight of steps, right by the river. We took a couple of shots, and before Teri knew it, Herb popped the ring out of his pocket, and asked Teri to marry him!!! It was so perfect and so romantic... Ryan and I were able to capture every moment of it! I was fighting back tears the whole time, because I didnt want to get my new camera wet... but I didn't succeed very well! We then continued to take more pictures now WITH the gorgeous ring on her finger... and then they went home to call their families and friends to spread the wonderful news!
We then met up again a couple hours later, and took a ride down to 59th Street beach in Ocean City! We were able to get some really beautiful shots of them on the rocks, and in the water... even though they both got a little wet! Sorry about that guys! :) They even showed off their Phillies and Eagles pride with a couple shots in each of their jerseys!
Teri and Herb, thank you so much for such a wonderful day! Its couples like the two of you that make me love being a photographer even more! I live for moments like the ones I got to capture with the two of you! And as promised, below are some photos from your memorable day!
